A Second Opinion Audit Checks the Math Before You Spend
For the owner holding another firm's audit, quote, or scanner report who wants the findings checked before the budget moves. Every finding gets retested on your own live pages and comes back confirmed, overstated, or plain wrong, with the evidence attached either way.
What We Keep Finding
Accessibility reports carry an incentive most buyers never think to look at. The firm that wrote the findings very often sells the repair work as well, so every extra finding is extra billable hours and every borderline call leans gently toward the invoice. That does not make the report wrong. It makes it unchecked, and you are about to spend real money on its word.
So here is ours, and you can check it in about four seconds. The audit price is published and fixed before anybody opens your site, so a longer findings list never earns us a cent more. It is printed on the pricing page, it does not move, and it is the same number whether we find three problems or three hundred. And there is no repair work behind it, because we do not sell any, at any price, so there is no second invoice for a long list to be pointing at.
Overstated is a real category with real examples, by the way, not a polite way of saying we disagree. The Level AA focus rule asks that a focused control not be *entirely* hidden, so a control half covered by a sticky header passes, and a report calling it a failure has borrowed the AAA version of the rule. A switched-off control is excepted from both contrast rules, so the grayed-out button somebody flagged was never a contrast failure at all. A link reading "Read more" conforms at AA when the card or the sentence around it names the destination, because the AA rule accepts context and the read-it-alone test is AAA.
Two more of the same shape, and they turn up in almost every scanner-derived report. Duplicate IDs stopped being a WCAG failure when the parsing rule was dropped from WCAG 2.2, and W3C's position is that the real problems there belong to other criteria and should be written up under those. And "the page must have one h1" is not in WCAG anywhere. It is a tool's own best-practice flag wearing a rule number, which is a very different thing to budget against.
What We Check
- Retest every reported finding on your live pages, one at a time
- Mark each one confirmed, overstated, or plain wrong, with the evidence attached
- Check the level on each, because a Level AAA test written up as an AA failure is the commonest overstatement there is
- Check what the report missed, against all 55 WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA rules
- Rerank the confirmed findings by who they lock out rather than by report volume
- Flag anything sold as urgent that the rules themselves treat as minor
What You Get
You get the same three passes every audit here runs. An automated scan, an expert review against all 55 WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA rules, and a session with a professional blind screen-reader user on your real pages. That is what makes this a second opinion rather than a proofread of somebody else's document.
On top of that, the report you are holding comes back annotated. Every finding in it carries a verdict, the evidence behind the verdict, and where we disagree, the sentence in the standard that settles it. Anything we found that they missed arrives as a new finding, ranked with the rest by who it locks out.
The Honest Limit
One honest limit, and a note on size. We verify findings, not price tags. Whether their quote is fair is a business judgment we stay out of, and whether their findings are true is an evidence question, which is the thing we sell. On size, a second opinion is an audit, so it covers up to 10 pages on Rapid and up to 25 on Standard. If the report you are holding runs longer than that, we retest the pages carrying the most findings and name the ones we did not reach rather than let silence stand in for a pass.
What It Costs
Rapid Audit: $499, up to 10 pages you pick, report in 5 business days. Standard Audit: $1,499, up to 25 pages in 10 business days. Flat rates, no discovery calls, and a real blind screen-reader user on every engagement. Pick your pages. We bring the humans.
